Difficult deception….

I sometimes feel it would be a good idea to not be in a professional life where one constantly has to interact with so many people. One is in the public eye all the time nearly 16-17 hours every day. There is no way one could show one’s inner feelings to all and sundry. One must be ” professional ” & wear the same bland, pleasant mask at all times. The difficulty in successfully hiding one’s emotions is at times too apparent. A sensitive observer is bound to realize all isn’t well in the inner world between my ears, and some do ask, to be politely turned down.

The difficulty does at times show on the face. This inner conflict is beautifully depicted in this amazing ghazal, an all time favourite. Rendered soulfully by the Shehenshah -e-Ghazal, Mehdi Hasan.
