The Sun’s daily journey inevitably ends every day. The golden hour has brilliant Western skies that light up in a colourful celebration, a veritable riot of scores of pleasing hues. At the very same time, the Eastern skies are far more reticent, restrained and introspective. So was the case this Saturday night, too. I put together my thoughts in verse form. Check it out.

Sunset’s Twilight
As twilight’s fading light descends,
The guiding light of day’s journey ends.
Very much alike to life’s final stage,
When clarity fades, like a turning page.
.
The day’s bright light, which once shone clear,
Now dims, and vision grows unclear.
Just as the sun sets, slowly down,
So too, life’s journey wears a fading crown.
.
Yet, even as the light declines,
The journey must go on, like winding vines.
Though day’s clear vision may grow dim,
The path ahead, though uncertain, still beckons him.
.
For just as night’s darkness follows day,
New possibilities emerge, come what may.
The journey goes on, though light may fade,
And in the darkness, new paths are made.

I thought of the sunset as a symbol for the journey of life, and depicting the themes of aging, mortality, uncertainty, and the need to continue moving forward, even in the face of darkness and uncertainty. The imagery of the fading light and the uncertainty of the path ahead is meant to evoke a sense of introspection and contemplation.

I hope you could enjoy the verse and the metaphor as much as I did putting it together.
