बस यूँही….

Modern life makes our perceptions get so much skewed and distorted, one overlooks the beauteous bounty of nature and wondrous gems just lie ignored, scattered upon an uncaring, unseeing and insensitive humanity that is caught in a web of its own making.

Every one of us has the same opportunity to admire, savour and even cherish these vistas, few actually bother to look up and get amazed.

I will never forget W H Davies‘ Leisure, which we were taught in school.

What is this life if, full of care
,We have no time to stand and stare.
.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
.

Deciding if we want to enrich ourselves with these is very much our own choice. I made mine, what about you…..
